Meet information from our
President:
Our meet against Pearland this
Saturday morning will be held at Alvin High School which is
located at 802 S. Johnson in Alvin, Texas. The school is very
easy to find. You can take Clear Lake City Boulevard (FM
2351) or Nasa Rd. 1 (FM 528) west to Hwy 35. When you get to
Hwy 35, you go south (to your left) down to Alvin. When you
get to Alvin, you should look for W. Adoue Street, and take a
right on it. A little way down W. Adoue Street you will come
to South Johnson where you should turn left. South Johnson
runs right by the front of the school. Please
click
here for a map that shows where the high school is
located.
Once you get to the high school,
you will need to find the pool. To help you find it,
for a pdf of the school's plot plan. Your best bet is to
continue on South Johnson until you get to Stadium Drive where
you should turn right. You will then turn right off of
Stadium drive at the entrance into the school campus. There
is parking by the basketball court as shown in the plot plan,
and the pool is attached to the building labeled GYM in the
plot plan.
Swimmers will need to
check in with the coaches between 6:30 and 7:00 am and pick up
their stickers which list their events. If you have
signed up for the meet, and for some reason can't make it or
are running late, please contact our clerk, Karan Garske, at
832-274-6161 by 7:00 am to let her know. If for some reason
you can't reach her, you can contact me (Rob Pruett) at
281-543-7935. Our swimmers will warm up as a group from 7:20
to 7:40 am. All first shift (events 1-40) volunteers
should check in with Annette Craig around 7:30 am.
The meet will start with the National Anthem at 8:00 am, and
it should be over around 1:30 pm or so. If you want to bring
the order of events with you, you can print it off of our
website by
clicking here.
Pearland has rented the gym
which adjoins the pool, so we will be able to camp out inside,
but you will not be allowed to set up chairs in the gym (they
don't want their gym floor damaged, so bring a blanket,
sleeping bag or comforter). There will be a concession stand,
but it would be best to bring something healthy along for your
swimmers to eat. And, of course, don't forget your towels,
swimsuits, goggles and caps.
Pearland will give us some good
competition, and I know our swimmers will do well. So come
prepared for some fast swimming and a good time.
Go Piranhas!!!
Message from our President:
If your swimmer needs to
practice starting like they will have to in our meets, be
sure to bring them to practice tomorrow (Friday) night.
We're going to set up our blocks, get out our starting
equipment, and give the kids and our starters a chance to
practice.
We're getting everything ready
for our meet with Pearland this Saturday, and will be
sending you more information on it shortly, so be sure to
check your emails and our website later today and tomorrow.
Go Piranhas!!!
Message from our Volunteer
Coordinator:
To Pineloch Piranhas
Parents:
Thank you to everyone who
has signed up to volunteer at the swim meet this weekend
against Pearland! Below is the schedule with volunteers.
We only have a few slots left to fill (2nd shift Timers
and Runners), so if you haven't signed up yet, please sign
up on the volunteer board during practice times or or
email me.
If your swimmer has a teen sibling that would be
interested in volunteering we would be happy to use their
services and they can earn volunteer hours.
We also need a head timer for the meet. If you've signed
up to be a timer, please consider being the head timer for
the Piranhas for your shift. Thank you again for your
cooperation and time!

Message from our Piranhas
Board:
Dear
Piranha Families,
Just
a reminder that the community association does not want us to
park between the park and the houses on Mabry Mill, because it
creates issues for homeowners trying to enter and leave their
driveways. Kids can be dropped off along the Mabry Mill
side of the park, and you can park in the parking lot, and
along the park side of Whitlock.
As always,
please feel free to contact any board member if you have
questions.
